City Sidewalks, Busy Sidewalks...

...the Christmas trees are here

Every year -- right after Thanksgiving -- the Christmas trees arrive. They mostly come from Canada -- thank you, our Canadian friends! -- but they may come from upstate New York or Maine or Vermont. They are bright note on the landscape, but I especially like the scent.

There are so many Christmas scents that I like. Gingerbread and peppermint and pine stand out, but pine is my favorite and I love that for a month the fresh pine scent fills the New York City streets. What a treat!

What are your favorite scents of the season?

I'm with you... the pine trees! Got my first whiff this weekend at a local produce market. It was wonderful!

Oh, Andrea, a girl of my heart ... pecan pie & cinnamon, too.

I am highly allergic to pines, cedars & firs ... boo-hoo!

New York City is awesome during the holiday season, so festive, full of lights & Christmas decorations. The hustle & bustle ...

Hope you have a beautiful week, my precious friend.

Hugs of love, Marydon

All those wonderful scents evoke the loveliest of memories through the years. We shopped for a tree yesterday and I hated to leave the display as I loved being amidst all the trees.
Wishing you lots of new memories and beauty in everyday of this season.

The pine scent just makes it officially Christmas. We used to bring in live trees and they smelled so good. We now use an artificial tree and it's just not the same.
Other scents are cinnamon and mulled cider.

Dear Buttercup,
My favorite scents of Christmas are the same as yours. I also love the scents of cinnamon and gloves. I keep a little bowl of spices on a simmering on a candle warmer through this season to make the house smell festive. I also love pine. I wish that we could make a trip to NY in Dec and smell them for ourselves. Our son used to work in Conn. and we flew into NYC each time we visited him. I love NY..(and I have a Tee shirt that says so...haha)

Thank you for dropping by my blog to say hello. It is always so nice to meet new blog friends.
Please come back again.
Have a great day.
